It was rather short, but had some really beautiful moments.. Nice little walking simulator with lots of beautiful sunbathed scenery. The experience is short, no doubt and the story feels like a coming-of-age poem, instead of a full grown story. But if you enjoy beautiful scenary at a slow pace with no action, then give this one a try.. If this was an app for something like the Samsung Gear VR this game could have been quite great.Unfortunately, it is not.Although visuals and music are nice everything around it is tedious.Evironmental storytelling is none-existent, walking is a chore (again could have worked fine with VR), the characters look more death than they did in Skyrim and before you can care about the characters or the world. It ends.I only recommend buying it if you really, REALLY like walking simulators. It is only 4 euro after all.. It's just a very short story with some mini games, casual chat and walking very beautiful landscapes. Nothing more to it but i liked the time i spent in this game, i wish developers come with a longer story set in this beautiful world!. short, simple, beautiful.. I'm sorry for being blunt, but this game sucks. Not because it's short - it did take me 38 minutes to beat it, but those minutes could have been filled with wonders and awe - they just aren't.Not because it's pretty - and it is, immensely, and even the atrociously modelled npcs can't change that. Not because it has a good concept - and it does, it's a prime material for a nice bittersweet slice of life thing. But in the end it all falls flat because of its lazy uninspired writing. The few conversations there are are boring, the single conflict of the game is superficial, there's not enough backstory to justify even its meagre length, the dialogue choices are strange and make protagonist look slightly sociopathic, and there's nothing impressive in the wording overall. It's really strange to release such a thing as a prelude to a bigger project, because it sort of says everything about the quaity these people can produce - and it by no means good. So if you value the story or emotional involvement, street clear, this is hardly the droid you're looking for. But if you want some cheap screenshot material, then by all means, go for it. Except you probably already own at least ten games that can be used for the same purpose. And they most probably offer something fun in return, you know, like games really should.. It's a beautiful game but that's about all there is. There was no hook to the story, characters were really strange, choices didn't matter. It feels somewhat like playing a demo, but knowing it just ends there is confusing and frustrating. I also had to check online how to get out of the forest because after wandering around for 15 minutes I couldn't figure out there was something to do with the chimes.. Very beautiful and relaxing game.. Leaving Lyndow is quite an interesting little game. I had thought it would be more akin to games like the Myst series and it did not fail to meet my expectation when it did present a few puzzles to solve, but also in it's family based storyline that deals with conflict between relations. The core point of Leaving Lyndow for me was indeed the small family drama and concerns that play out across the areas. It's essentially a coming of age drama based on the strength of will of the protagonist and the people who care for her. Unlike Myst though it did not explore the depths of human desire, or how conflicted such dramas can become, instead opting for a feel good solution. It did not make it a bad story, in fact I thoroughly enjoyed the way the exploration of the world led to the discovery of the characters past that gave rise to their present concerns, but it fails to elevate the game to a point of excellence that it might have otherwise achieved. The game is beautiful, the areas rendered with detail, even the strange creatures (whose family life and decisions are all too human) convey a sense of uniqueness. The game is very, very short but well worth a play through if you are willing to spend the money on it.
